Showcasing Our Team

A huge welcome to Beth, who is joining our team as our newest Delivery Consultant!

It was great to catch up with Beth after her first week and ask a few questions:

How did you come to apply for ISL?

I was moving to Bristol and was looking for jobs, so I went on Google, typed best places to work in Bristol and ISL came up in the search.  I went onto the website and watched the training video, and I recognised an old friend, so I reached out to her, she gave a high recommendation and here I am!

What interested you about recruitment?

Well obviously, my good friend had done it and had really enjoyed it, which is a big plus, but also, I was looking for transferrable skills that could set me up in a career. Skills like good communication and organisation really appeal to me. I have worked in hospitality my whole life, so it is exciting to try and apply myself in a new area of customer service.

What’s your favourite food?

I love a savoury pie, in fact, when I was younger, I used to dream of opening a pie shop called ‘The Handsome Pie Company’. My favourite pie was probably one I used to eat in New Zealand which was a pork belly and apple pie, but I do make a really good roast veg and hummus pie.

What are 3 fun facts about you?

Hmm, I’m very good at skiing, it’s what I have been doing for the last 10 years and I have managed to travel all over the world for different ski seasons and been to some amazing places!

I have lived in 6 different countries in my life, England, France, America, New Zealand, Austria and Japan.

My first job was in a National Trust property in Devon where I had to dress in full Victorian costume- I had to wear a bonnet and everything!

Where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time?

I have been travelling since I was 17, which has been amazing, but I would like to settle down somewhere for a bit longer and have a base. I can see myself staying in the Bristol area for a while to be nearer my family and will be amazing to have one place that feels like home after 10 years of moving about. I want to potentially buy somewhere in a ski resort to go away to but more importantly a home to come back to- a home with a dog…or four!

How did you spend your first Friday afternoon off?

I had a lovely afternoon getting to know the Bristol area a bit bitter. I enjoyed a G&T in the sun overlooking the Clifton Suspension bridge before going for a walk in a deer park.

How did you find your first full week at ISL?

I had a great first week, I had a lot of support and encouragement from everyone. There is always a bit of an information overload when starting a new job, but I felt really supported. Can’t wait for welcome drinks tomorrow evening!

Welcome to the team Beth!
