Life at ISL – September!
What have we been up to? September was a jam packed month at ISL. From being shortlisted for awards, welcoming new members to our team and hosting a biscuit dunking competition – we’ve done it all!
We had two new starters join us in September: Loui and Oli. Loui joined ISL’s IT team as a Recruitment Consultant focused on growing the data sector in the London market, and Oli joined as ISL’s dedicated Learning and Development Manager. They’ve both slotted into the team seamlessly and have already made an amazing impression!
Business Leader Awards
In August, we found out we’d been shortlisted by Business Leader for the Employee of the Year Award. At the end of last month we attended the awards ceremony at Ashton Gate which was presented by Russell Kane. Unfortunately we didn’t win the award, but Henry, Mattie and Alan had a great night celebrating the success of companies across the South West.
We had some great news this month as we found out we’ve also been shortlisted for the Recruiter Investing in Talent Awards and the Wyldeia Happy Workplace award. We’re so pleased to have been shortlisted for both of these great awards and are looking forward to the announcements!
In September, Macmillan held the world’s biggest coffee morning. To play a part in the fundraising fun we hosted our own coffee morning with a twist. We held a biscuit dunking competition (whoever could dunk their biscuit for the longest without it breaking wins) and held our own bake off competition! Alan won the biscuit dunking with a time of 1 minute 16 seconds, and Loui won the bake off competition with his delicious carrot cake! We had a great day and raised lots of money for a good cause.
September was a busy month for ISL birthdays, with 6 all in the same month! To celebrate, Alan and Henry treated all of the birthday boys and girls to a lovely lunch at Turtle Bay.
Training Academy Winner
Our Training Academy winner was announced in September. Danny Moore was crowned winner of the academy after his exceptional performance over the 6 weeks, showing real determination and the desire to succeed- he even secured a placement which is an academy first! Congratulations Danny.
