Production Manager – Electronics

Role: Production Manager

Location: Ryde, Isle of Wight

Salary: £40,000-£60,000 + benefits

We are recruiting for a Production Manager to join a leading electronics engineering business as demand has created this position as a new role. The company design and manufacture niche electronics devices for the EMC, communications, science and defense markets.

Responsibilities:

* Manage the operations process and influence all relevant support functions to achieve customer fulfillment expectations
* Responsible for achievement of KPI’s related to shipping volume targets, on-time delivery, past due backlog, customer lead time, efficiency, overtime premium expense, PPV and net inventory
* Rectify product cost variances to target
* Drive resolution to material availability issues
* Timely and thorough execution (within the scope of the plant) of Engineering Change Notices (ECN)
* Implement and drive continuous improvement activities through implementation of change management process and best practices
* Coordinate, set up and implement standard operating procedure for all production operations
* Making sure that products are produced on time and are of good quality
* Manage the adherence to prescribed procedures to ensure first pass quality meets or exceeds planned goals
* Ensure prescribed preventive maintenance are completed thoroughly and timely
* Implement and ensure adherence to 6S processes
* Implement Lean manufacturing techniques

Position Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a relevant discipline such as Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc.
* 5-7 years experience in production at a management level with leadership skills
* Experience of working in an international environment (US company is a plus)
* Comfortable with matrix management
* Proven experience in managing production lines and supply chain
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, identify, and address problems, meet deadlines, and stay within budget
* Ability to create and manage production budgets
* Knowledge of supply chain including MRP and Master Scheduling skills
* Proven ability as a change agent
* Strong computer skills
