With August’s Employee of the month- Jack!
How does it feel to win employee of the month?
It feels really good to be recognised, especially after having a good month. I feel proud of my performance and feel motivated to do it all again.
How has the pandemic affected your work?
It took a big hit on recruitment for the last year which was hard but has its positives because the market has now bounced back, and the last 6 months have been the busiest that I have ever seen whilst working in recruitment. Hybrid working was a bonus, I couldn’t work entirely remotely, but working from home a couple of days a week has been really beneficial and the flexible working hours have definitely improved results. I think that the new 4 ½ day week has boosted morale in the office.
What’s your secret to success?
I work hard every day. I always start the day with a plan, and I keep myself motivated to hit my goals. I think it is so important to make the most out of every day. I have clear goals in mind, both personal things that I want to achieve, and from a company perspective, and then I work until I achieve them. Really the key to my success is that I set out to get something out of every day and I do everything to the best of my ability.

What’s your proudest moment at ISL?
The stand-out moment is probably getting promoted to Sales Manager, I worked really hard towards it for ages, and it felt like such a big achievement. It feels good when hard work is recognised. But in general, I am proud that I hit every single goal and milestones that the company sets, and my own personal goals too. I love setting my mind on something and then making it happen.
What are your goals for the rest of the year?
I am aiming to get promoted to Associate Director by the end of the year but would also love to be top biller at the end of the year. Aside from work I want to be able to really enjoy my time off, book a lot of holidays and be able to unwind and relax somewhere nice.
What was your greatest challenge this month?
I worked really hard to bring new business to the company and sell our subscription service. It took a lot of work and involved spending a lot of time with proposals and talking things through, but it was also one of my biggest achievements this month. It is great to watch the business grow and see all my efforts pay off.
How are you taking advantage of a 4 ½ day week?
The 4 ½ day week has been great, I find it has really improved my performance. I try and make the most of it each week. My partner works every other Friday, so we are able to go away together and clear our heads. I often meet up with friends and have a drink, go to the gym, or get a round of golf in. Really, I just like to chill out, I honestly feel so much happier because of this extra time.
How are you going to celebrate?
I am heading off to Rhodes at the weekend to kick back and relax. It will be nice to go away and enjoy a holiday, maybe I will open a bottle of champagne to celebrate!
